Jeremy earned his Bachelor’s of Arts in English Literature from Georgia State University and continued there for graduate studies in Literary Criticism. He has 11 years of teaching experience at both the middle and high school levels. Jeremey has primarily worked with students with severe behavioral challenges and other children with special needs. Jeremy leverages this experience to consult and lead workshops on classroom management, building meaningful and lasting relationships, and tips for working with our most disenfranchised student groups. Jeremy’s areas of expertise include relationship building, classroom management, special education, restorative practices and literacy development in grades 6-12.
Passion Statement: Jeremy is most passionate about literacy because when children can read, write and speak effectively they are at their most powerful. They can give vision, script and breath to their dreams.
Why Nylinka: Jeremy is drawn to Nylinka’s vision of empowerment through education because of its direct correlation to improving the outcomes for young men of color.
Fun fact: The one and only Dolly Parton gave him homemade fudge; it was delicious!!
